Farmers will get outstanding bonus of Rs 3716 crore
Raipur. As per the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the farmers of the state, the state government has issued an order to purchase 21 quintals of paddy per acre from the farmers at the support price. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the Chhattisgarh government will fulfill all the promises made to the people. We will purchase paddy from the farmers of the state at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. It is estimated that 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy will be procured in the state this year. About Rs 40 thousand crore will be paid to the farmers in lieu of paddy production at support price.
It is noteworthy that till now only 15 quintals of paddy was being purchased from farmers at support price in the state, which the government has increased to 21 quintals. If paddy is purchased at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, farmers will get more profit of about Rs 23,355 per acre on the sale of paddy. By the previous government, a maximum of Rs 41,745 was being paid to the farmers by purchasing 15 quintals of paddy per acre and including the total payment of input subsidy in four instalments. By implementing Prime Minister Modi ji’s guarantee in the state, they are purchasing 21 quintals of paddy from farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. With this, farmers will get a total payment of Rs 65,100 per acre for selling paddy, which is Rs 23,355 more than what they have been paying till now for purchasing paddy.
The Chief Minister has said that instructions have also been given to make better and adequate arrangements in all the procurement centers so that farmers do not face any problem in selling paddy. He said that on 25th December, we are celebrating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee as National Good Governance Day. On December 25, as per the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the farmers of the state will be paid Rs 3716 crore 38 lakh 96 thousand as bonus amount for the outstanding paddy of 2 years.
The maximum limit for paddy purchase per acre by the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department will be 21 quintals with linking. Those farmers who have already sold their paddy at support price will also be given the facility to sell paddy under the said quantity. It is noteworthy here that paddy is being procured in the state at support price since November 01. 26 lakh 86 thousand farmers have registered themselves to sell paddy at support price. The registered paddy area is 33 lakh 15 thousand hectares. So far, about 9.25 lakh farmers have sold 42.20 lakh metric tonnes of paddy at the support price. After this order is issued, farmers who have sold paddy will also get the benefit of fixed quantity of 21 quintals per acre.
