Father commits suicide after son fails in NEET, CM Stalin opposes NEET
Chennai (IANS). After failing in NEET exam, a candidate committed suicide by hanging himself. In whose sorrow the father also gave his life.
In this case Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has launched a fierce attack against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Jagadeeswaran (19) was taking coaching for NEET preparation. Unable to bear the shock of repeated failures, the student committed suicide by hanging himself at his Chromepet residence in Chennai on Saturday. The father also gave his life in grief for the son.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu said in a social media post that NEET exam can be done away with. Under no circumstances should any student give up his life.
Chief Minister Stalin said he was shocked to hear the news of the suicide of student Jagadeeswaran and his father Selvasekar. The death of a brilliant student due to not being able to clear NEET is sad.
He also said that NEET can be removed as a hindrance in the pursuit of the students. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also said that the state government is taking legal steps to remove the hurdles in banning NEET.
The CM said that there would be a political change in a few months and after that the barriers created by NEET would collapse.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also said that the death of Jagadeeswaran and his father Selvasekar would be the last suicide at the altar of NEET.
