Fighter aircraft Tejas-Mark 2 engines will be made in India
Delhi : Engines of American company GE will be made in India. America’s approval has been received to make the engine. These will be the engines of India’s next light combat aircraft Tejas-Mark 2. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) chief Dr. Sameer V. Kamat said that American company GE Aerospace and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will jointly make this engine in India. All types of approvals for this have been obtained from America. The first work to be done will be to make engines for the light combat aircraft Tejas-Mark 2. The prototype of this fighter jet will be ready in a year. And after four years it can be included in the Indian Air Force.
According to the information, this indigenous fighter aircraft of India will have a cockpit connected with night vision goggles. Its advantage will be that the target can be attacked with this fighter jet at night or in the dark. It will have a hands-on throttle-and-stick arrangement. Hands-on throttle-and-stick means that the fighter jet will be controlled with a single lever and weapons can also be fired from the same lever.According to the information, 10 squadrons of Tejas-Mark 2 will be created. Its objective is to replace the old fleet of Jaguar, Mirage-2000 and MiG-29 fighter jets.
The Security Committee of the Cabinet had approved the manufacturing of Tejas-Mark 2 light combat aircraft on August 30 this year. This aircraft will replace Mirage 2000, Jaguar and MiG-29 fighter aircraft in a phased manner. According to defense information, Tejas-Mark 2 will be manufactured by 2027. It is noteworthy that the Indian Army already has the advanced version of LCA Tejas Mark-1A aircraft. This aircraft available with the Air Force is a fighter jet which flies at a speed of 2205 km per hour. Not only this, this fighter jet of the Air Force is also capable of carrying 6 types of missiles. The Indian Air Force had asked for 123 Tejas fighter jets, out of which 31 have been received. All these are Tejas Mark-1. Apart from this, recently the Indian Air Force has received its first 2 seater light combat aircraft ‘Tejas Twin Seater’.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited i.e. HAL has handed over the first Tejas twin seater trainer aircraft to the Air Force. Tejas twin seater trainer aircraft is a light aircraft. Another important feature of this aircraft is that it can fly in any weather. A total of 18 twin-seater aircraft were ordered to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Out of this order placed by the Indian Air Force, 8 aircraft are to be delivered by next year. The remaining 10 aircraft will be delivered to the Indian Air Force by 2026-27.
