Fire in Narmada Express, stampede

Shortly after departure from Belgahna station, Bilaspur-Indore Narmada Express 18234 suddenly saw smoke in bogie number S-3 causing panic among the passengers sitting in adjacent bogies..The train stopped at Tenganmada railway station. All the passengers of the bogie started getting down from the bogie in a hurry. Within a short time the entire bogie was empty. The fire was continuously rising from the brake system, smoke was rising.

After the train stopped, no railway personnel immediately reached the spot to extinguish the fire, nor were any fire extinguishing equipment visible in the train bogie. Finally, after some time, the railway-employees reached in a hurry and took out the air from the brake system and the brake-system was loosened.
