New Delhi: The accused, who stabbed a 17-year-old boy 70 times during a street robbery in Delhi’s Welcome area late on Tuesday night, is earlier also involved in the murder of a person along with others for looting Rs 100.
According to sources, “In 2022, the teenager was sent to a reform home for murder. However, he came out after one year of imprisonment, but the other three are still in jail.”
“He was inspired by the notorious Hashim Baba gang and wanted to create terror in the area,” he said. Meanwhile, the social media posts of the accused also indicate his inclination towards violence.
He had shared videos on his social media accounts, displaying a knife, and footage of himself inside the court premises, projecting a criminal image. Days after a 16-year-old was arrested for stabbing a teenager, disturbing scenes have emerged in which the accused is seen dancing on her body, “celebrating” the heinous act.
In the CCTV footage, the accused can be seen dragging the body of the minor in a narrow lane and repeatedly stabbing the victim in the neck. He also kicks the lifeless body on the head several times. The disturbing scene ends with the attacker standing over the dead body and doing a macabre dance.
The incident took place in Janta Mazdoor Colony in Welcome area of north-east Delhi on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Joy Tirkey said, “The motive behind the murder was robbery. The boy first strangled the victim and when he became unconscious, he stabbed him multiple times before robbing him of Rs 350.”
