First randomization of EVM and VVPAT machines done in Mahasamund
Mahasamund. In order to conduct the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in a free, fair and transparent manner, the first randomization of EVM and VVPAT machines was done in the collectorate’s conference room today in the presence of officials of political parties. Collector and District Election Officer Shri Prabhat Malik said that before using EVM and VVPAT machines in polling stations, randomization of machines is done at various stages for transparency. The first randomization of machines was done in the online software of the Election Commission of India.
Under which, randomization of 2110 available ballot units, 1362 control units and 1462 units of VVPAT was done. It is known that there are 270 polling stations under Saraipali Assembly, 287 under Basna Assembly, 270 under Khallari Assembly and 246 under Mahasamund Assembly i.e. total 1080 polling stations. In the process of randomization, after the consent of the representatives of political parties, 123 percent ballot units, 123 percent control units and 133 percent VVPAT machines of the total polling stations were randomized. For transparency in the district, videography and photography of the entire process of randomization was done. After randomization, it was printed and after getting signatures from the officials of all the political parties, its copies were provided to them. After this, CU, BU and VVPAT kept in different rooms in the warehouse were inspected. Along with taking a tour of the strong room, the officials were given information about other activities related to the elections.
