First restaurant inaugurated in rail coach

Chandigarh. Punjab’s first ‘Rail Coach Restaurant’ was inaugurated at Pathankot Cantt railway station on Tuesday, railway officials said. Officials said the restaurant was established under the concept of ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ or ‘Food on Wheels’ of the Railways. Under this initiative, old train coaches are renovated and converted into rail coach restaurants.
Officials said that in this air-conditioned restaurant, passengers will be able to enjoy food at affordable rates at the station itself. Officials said that this facility will be available 24 hours to railway passengers and general public and will provide them a unique experience. .This is the second such restaurant of Firozpur division of Indian Railways.The first ‘Rail Coach Restaurant’ was inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station.
