Edappadi Palaniswami advises AIADMK to take a serious look at the work of SIR

Tamil Nadu: Party General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami advised the AIADMK to closely monitor the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
Edappadi Palaniswami held a meeting of district secretaries via video conferencing from the AIADMK headquarters in Royapettah, Chennai, on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by 62 district secretaries of the party.
Speaking at the meeting, Edappadi Palaniswami stated that the SIR work is being carried out rapidly across Tamil Nadu. There have been frequent complaints of DMK interference in these works. Therefore, the DMK must be extremely vigilant to prevent any interference and the inclusion of illegal voters in the list.
The leadership has received information that the AIADMK’s monitoring in Chennai and southern districts is lacking. Strict action will be taken against party officials who are negligent in SIR monitoring. Edappadi Palaniswami has said that the AIADMK should work hard to prepare an accurate voter list.
AIADMK petitions Chief Election Officer: Meanwhile, former minister Jayakumar T. on Tuesday submitted a petition to Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik on behalf of the AIADMK:
During the SIR work in various parts of Tamil Nadu, PLOs distributed calculation forms door-to-door through outsiders. The list of people who have moved and those who have died should be properly audited.
Furthermore, according to Election Commission data, although 96.22 percent of calculation forms were issued, not even 50 percent were uploaded. This is also due to technical glitches. Therefore, the petition states that the deadline for uploading calculation forms should be extended.
