Food department director inspected paddy procurement centers

Bilaspur. Bilaspur. Food Department Director Jitendra Shukla visited Bilaspur district today and inspected the availability and quality of rice given to the poor in several paddy procurement centers and PDS shops-godowns. During this, during inspection at Birkona Paddy Procurement Center, he found that the manager Dewari Lal Yadav, father Kartik Ram Yadav, who was removed by the collector last year, is present on the spot and tokens of 9 farmers were found from him. Apart from this, the clerk who was working on the post earlier has been given the responsibility of manager there. Let us tell you, due to shortage of 2388 quintals of paddy (5.7 percent) in Kharif marketing year 2023-24, instructions were given to remove all the staff there including the manager.

At the same time, during the inspection today, tokens of these 9 farmers were received from the manager – Nand Kishore, Ramdhan, Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Amit Dwivedi, Ishwar Prasad Bareth, Sushila Rudrakar, Anand Yadav, Bahoran father Vijay and Milind father Nandkishore. During interrogation, the removed manager Dewari Lal Yadav told that he works as Adhiya/Regha in the area of ​​the above mentioned 9 farmers. After this, the director has instructed the departmental employees to complete the physical verification of Birkona Paddy Procurement Center immediately. The amount of paddy procured today in Birkona Paddy Procurement Center was 28,532 quintals, the amount of DO issued was 17,500 quintals and the percentage of lifting in the procurement center was found to be 61.33.

Before Birkona, the Food Department Director had also inspected Lingiyadih and Sendri. During the inspection of the warehouse of Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation located in Lingiyadih, he inspected the quality of rice in the warehouse as well as the availability of rice for 2 months for the shop attached to the warehouse. In the investigation, sufficient quantity of rice was found to be stored in the warehouse as per the prescribed quality. After this, he reached Sendri village and inspected the paddy procurement center. Where the quantity of paddy was found to be 39,585 quintals, the quantity of DO issued was 22160 quintals and the lifting at the procurement center was 56 percent. During this, he also talked to the farmers who came to the center to sell paddy. The weight was checked by randomly weighing the sacks. Apart from this, the amount of moisture was also checked by a hygrometer, which was found to be in accordance with the prescribed standards. He instructed the center manager and in-charge to procure paddy as per the quality prescribed by the government.
