Food department raided factories, collected samples and sent them to lab for testing

Rajnandgaon: A joint team of the Food Safety Department of Raipur and Rajnandgaon raided about half a dozen factories in the district. About half a dozen establishments including food factories located at Mathapara, Nehru Nagar and Gathula in the city were investigated by the team. During this time, the departmental team has collected samples of food items from different places and sent them to the lab for testing.

Food Safety Officer of Rajnandgaon, Domendra Dhruv, said, “The confectionary was being continuously monitored to see whether they were able to prepare the food as per the packaging standards and hygienic conditions. The status was also being monitored. It was also being monitored at ground and high level. Regarding which spot inspection has been done by the joint team. To stop adulteration during the festival season, a joint team of Raipur and Rajnandgaon is taking action in the district. The team has raided about half a dozen factories including Priya Chocolates, Rajesh Confectionery located at Mathapara in Rajnandgaon. Samples of food items have been taken and sent for testing.
