Food department raids hotels in 2 districts including Raipur, quality of sweets is being monitored
Raipur: To check the quality of food items during the festive season, a state level flying squad of food safety officers from different districts is being formed and a surprise check is being conducted to check the quality of food items manufactured in food complexes operating in all the districts of Chhattisgarh. The production units are being monitored so that high quality food items can be made available to the common people.
According to the information received from the Controller Food and Drug Administration, a joint team in Rajnandgaon and Raipur districts conducted surprise inspection of spices, pulses, hotels etc. and collected samples to check the quality of food items. Seizure proceedings were carried out by collecting samples of chocolate from M/s Rajesh Confectionery of Rajnandgaon and sample of garam masala was taken from M/s Amar Shaheed Agro. A sample of lentils was taken from M/s Santosh Dal Mill, a dal mill located at Mova in Raipur. Also, a joint team took a sample of noodles from a reputed hotel M/s Ashoka Biryani and sent it to the State Food and Drug Testing Laboratory, from where, after receiving the report, the samples were taken for further investigation. Action will be taken.
