Apart from his wife and son, the family members kept his body at the same place at his residence on Railway Station Road, where he used to sit and meet people. Before he reached here, a crowd of hundreds of people had already reached there. After this, his body was taken to Congress Bhawan.

Where Congressmen and supporters from all over the district rushed to see him for the last time. Amidst the crowd, at exactly 11:15, his journey started towards the village where he was born. The people of the city were speechless that the person who gave Mahasamund the status of a Railway Station Road district is saying goodbye to Mahasamund today, he will never return to Mahasamund.
