Four arrested for killing Indian-origin delivery driver in UK
London (IANS). Police said four people have been charged with the murder of the 23-year-old Indian-origin delivery driver. A man has been killed in a knife-wielding gang attack in western England.
Orman Singh, who worked with Dynamic Parcel Distribution, died in an attack on 21 August while delivering a parcel in Berwick Avenue, Shrewsbury.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services that reached the spot, he could not be saved.
West Mercia Police have arrested Arshdeep Singh, 24, of Tipton, Jagdeep Singh, 22, of Dudley, Shivdeep Singh, 26, of Smethwick and Manjot Singh, 24, in connection with the murder.
Police said the four accused were produced before the magistrate’s court on August 26. A fifth person, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail.
Witnesses told The Sun that a car was seen parked in the area from 11am on the day of the murder, after which they saw men armed with knives, baseball bats and shovels.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bellamy, said those suspected of involvement were not local to Shrewsbury or the wider West Mercia police area.
Bellamy had said, “Our investigation is ongoing and officers are carrying out a range of inquiries to establish the circumstances that led to Orman’s murder.”
Orman’s family said in a statement released by West Mercia Police that there are no words to describe the impact this tragedy has had on them.
“Today a mother will grow old without her son. A sister will grow old without her brother. We do not want what happened to us to happen to any other family. want to thank you for.”
