Four students of the school were expelled, slogan of Jai Shri Ram had to be raised, uproar from Hindu organizations
Jhansi: Four students of St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School in Maurani in Jhansi, UP have been expelled by the school administration for eight days for raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram. After the news of expulsion of students from the school for raising slogans of Jaishree Ram went viral on social media, fierce protests started. Hindu organizations reacted strongly to this and staged a massive protest. Seeing the uproar over this matter, the school administration has now come on the back foot and has issued a denial letter regarding the entire matter.
High school students were asked to write an essay on a topic of their interest. The children who reached school the next day read out their essays. Three other students including a girl student wrote an essay on Ram Mandir and concluded their essay by raising the slogan of Jai Shri Ram. The school administration took a tough stand on this and termed it as completely unacceptable and called the parents of all the children and expelled them from the school for eight days.
As people got information about the matter, questions started being raised on social media regarding the action of the school administration and protests also started. Based on the information spread through social media, many Hindu organizations and members of student organization ABVP also came forward in protest and burnt the effigy of the school administration. Not only this, a memorandum was submitted to the SDM demanding action against the school administration. The organizations warned that if appropriate action was not taken within a week, even more severe protests would be held.
Seeing the matter gaining momentum, the school administration became lax and as the protests intensified, a denial was also issued by the school. Tehsildar Madan Mohan Gupta said that the matter of expulsion of students for raising slogans of Jaishree Ram in the school has come to light. An inquiry committee has been formed in the entire matter. Whatever facts emerge after investigation, action will be taken accordingly.
