Fraud case against actress Ameesha Patel, court gives chance to record statement
Ranchi. Ranchi Civil Court has given the last chance to actress Ameesha Patel and her company’s business partner Kunal Groomer to appear physically and record their statement in a case related to not doing the film after taking money, fraud and check bounce. The film actress was to appear in the court on Tuesday, but she did not come. His advocate sought time for this citing personal reasons. On this, the complainant’s advocate protested and said that the case is being postponed by repeatedly asking for time. Giving him the last chance, the court of Judicial Magistrate DN Shukla has ordered him to appear in the court on the next date and record his statement under Section 313 of CrPC.
This matter is of the year 2018. Ranchi film producer Ajay Kumar Singh had filed a case against Ameesha Patel. In this he has alleged that Ameesha Patel had taken Rs 2.5 crore from him in the name of music making. Even after taking the money, he did not take any steps towards music making. Along with this, Ameesha Patel has also been accused of extorting Rs 2.5 crore from Ajay Singh in the name of making the film ‘Desi Magic’. According to the contract between the two, when the film did not release in June 2018, Ajay demanded money from Ameesha. After much procrastination, two checks of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh were given in October 2018, which bounced. In this case, summons were issued several times to Ameesha Patel for her presence, but despite this she was not appearing in the court herself or through her advocate. After the warrant was issued, he surrendered in the civil court on June 19 last year. After the hearing, the court granted him bail on two bail bonds of Rs 10 thousand each.
