Free resources provided for IIT-M GATE preparation
CHENNAI: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) on Thursday said its NPTEL – GATE portal (gate.nptel.ac.in) has emerged as an important platform for candidates aspiring to crack this competitive examination.
“The NPTEL-GATE portal has received over 50,700 registrations. It also provides access to previous years questions (PYQ) from 2007-2022, covering over 16 years of GATE exam topics. The portal “There has been a significant increase in the participation of students in its comprehensive examination preparation programs during the last year,” a release from IIT-Madras said.
In the current semester, which started on October 15, 19 mock tests have already been completed in six subjects and seven subjects including biotechnology.
Every year around 7 to 10 lakh students appear for GATE exam in India. Notably in 2023, around 7 lakh students had registered for the GATE exam, out of which around one lakh students passed successfully.
National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a joint initiative of various IITs including IIT Madras and IISc, Bengaluru.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a prestigious national level examination that evaluates candidates for comprehensive understanding in various graduate level subjects in engineering, technology, science, architecture and humanities.
Candidates who qualify GATE can gain admission into master’s programs and direct doctoral programs with possible financial aid.
