Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri today announced that the doors of the Srimandir will be opened from 1.30 AM today after conducting the Pahuda rituals.
The temple administration took the decision to open the door at midnight with the aim to help the devotees to have darshan of the deities and begin the New Year with their blessings.
As huge crowd is expected to flock the 12th century shrine, the temple administration has made special arrangements made for the smooth visit of devotees.
The devotees will enter the AC shed after going through a special barricade and proceed to the Temple. The devotees can get facilities like drinking water, toilets and fans.
A total of 90 platoons of police force with 20 DSPs, more than 50 inspectors and 140 ASI and sub-inspectors will be in-charge of the security of the devotees.
From Marchikote Chowk to the Srimandir has been announced as no vehicle zone for the convenience of devotees. Besides, restriction on movement of vehicles on the road from the Sea Beach Police Station to the Light House has been imposed.
