Gaddam Vamsi is moving ahead in campaigning for Peddapalli.
Peddapalli: Gomasa Srinivas from BJP, former minister Koppula Easwar from BRS and Gaddam Vamsi Krishna from Congress are in the race for the Peddapalli parliamentary seat. Since seven assembly seats in this parliamentary constituency belong to Congress, Gaddam Vamsi has better chances of winning the seat. Minister Sridhar Babu and Seethakka along with all the MLAs recently held a special meeting under the leadership of Sridhar Babu at the residence of Mancherial MLA Prema Sagar Rao in Hyderabad and strategized about the victory of Vamsi Krishna.
Later, a meeting of prominent workers of Peddapalli parliamentary constituency was held in Mancherial within three days. Manthani MLA, Minister Sridhar Babu, Chennuru MLA Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy, Bellampalli MLA Gaddam Vinod, Peddapalli MLA Vijaya Raman Rao, Rama Ramagundam MLA Makkan Singh, Mancherial MLA Kokkirala Premasagar Rao, Dharmapuri MLA Adaluri Lakshman Kumar and Peddapalli MLA Vijayaram Rao and Congress candidate Gaddam. Vamsi Krishna was present. They ultimately expressed their support to Gaddam Vamsi and unanimously expressed that they would support him and work for his victory with a majority of one lakh.
Analysts feel that the victory of Kaka’s heir Vamsi Krishna is certain. For almost three decades the Gaddam Venkata Swamy (Kaka) family has served the underprivileged people of Peddapalli Sansad. Kaka’s family, belonging to the Dalit community, has been moving forward with the same ambition since then.
Gaddam Venkataswamy contested and won as a parliamentary candidate in the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency. After this, he became MP for five consecutive terms and remained a Union Minister. Along with strengthening the Congress Party, he rendered many services in the region as MP and Union Minister. Like Kaka, Vivek also dedicated himself to public service. Gaddam Vivek recently returned to his party and won as Chennur MLA.
Recognizing the priority of the Kaka family and the public services rendered by the family, the Congress Party leadership appointed Gaddam Vamsi Krishna Kaka’s successor as the Peddapalli parliamentary candidate.
Gaddam Vamsi was at the forefront of many service programs even at a young age. However, before the formation of Telangana state, the Pedpadalli constituency was close to the Congress and became a Kaka segment. There were days when the mention of Gaddam Venkataswami’s name brought to mind the Peddapalli Parliament. Although BRS has won the MP seat twice after becoming a separate state, analysts believe that Congress will win the parliamentary elections.
TRS candidate Koppula Ishwar’s connections with the coal belt region, long political experience and reputation as a labor leader are expected to play a key role in his victory. Srinivas believes that the BJP wave and Modi’s charisma and the votes of the leadership social class are expected to come together for his victory.
There are 33,000 Singareni workers and their families in Ramagundam, Manthani, Chennur, Mancherial and Bellampalli assembly constituencies of Peddapalli parliamentary constituency and a total of 1,50,000 people. Singareni has 40,000 working and retired employees and 2,00,000 people with their families.
Also, the contract workers working in Singareni are 20,000 and their families together are up to 80,000. The number of voters in Peddapalli parliamentary constituency is 15,25,000 while the number of people belonging to Singareni is around 4.50 lakh to 5 lakh. The candidates are busy gaining the support of the workers.
