Ganja smuggler caught at forest barrier, was supplying on bike
Raigarh: In order to conduct the Assembly elections 2023 in the district in a fair and peaceful manner, under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar and under the guidance and leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Mahadeva and all the police gazetted officers, illegal buying and selling of narcotics, transportation and Action is going on against social elements. In the same sequence, on the guidance of Police Sub-Divisional Officer Dharamjaigarh Deepak Mishra, informers were activated in police station Lailunga, Dharamjaigarh, Tamnar, outpost Rairumakhurd police area regarding drug smuggling from the border area of Orissa and Jharkhand and all the people coming and going at the major barriers and check posts. Intensive investigation has been done.
In the same series, on the basis of informer’s information, the police team under the leadership of outpost in-charge Rairumakhurd sub-inspector Ainu Dewangan surrounded Bakaruma Forest Barrier and seized a suspicious Honda sign motorcycle number CG 13 U.F. 2847 were caught. Police had received information that a person was coming from Lailunga towards Rairuma on a sign bike carrying ganja from Orissa. The person caught in the siege gave his name as Sagaram, father Pahadev Sarathi, age 43 years, resident of Charkhapara police post, Rairumakhurd. After being informed about the blockade proceedings, after being duly checked, the total amount was found in three different plastic packets inside Sagaram’s motorcycle trunk. 3 kg 50 grams of intoxicating substance Ganja worth ₹ 36,000 was found which the accused Sagaram said was brought for sale. Seized from the accused were 3 kg 50 grams ganja worth Rs 36,000 and motorcycle Honda sign CG 13 U.F. 2847 worth ₹ 60,000 and one mobile worth ₹ 1,000 total worth ₹ 97 thousand were seized and action was taken against the accused under Section 20 (B) NDPS Act at Police Post Rairumakhurd (Dharamjaigarh Police Station) and the accused was sent on judicial remand.
