Ganja smugglers from Orissa caught in Raipur, Tikrapara police took action

Raipur: SSP Prashant Aggarwal has given necessary guidelines to all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges including the in-charge anti-crime and cyber units, to detect and take action against black drug dealers and to curb it effectively. On which all the officers, police station in-charges and the team of anti-crime and cyber units are collecting information regarding drug dealers by employing informers, patrolling and collecting information.

In this connection, the police got information that two persons were keeping ganja in their bags near the bus stand of Bhathagaon under Tikrapara police station area and were planning to go somewhere. On which Additional Superintendent of Police City/Crime Abhishek Maheshwari, Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter and City Superintendent of Police Purani Basti Rajesh Chaudhary verified the information and directed the police station in-charge Tikrapara to catch the accused red handed with ganja. On which, under the guidance of senior officers and under the leadership of Tikrapara police station in-charge, a team of Tikrapara police station went to the said place and identified and identified the persons of the description described by the informer. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names to be Ganga Soyam and Soyam Seenu resident of Malkangiri, Orissa. When the team members searched the bag kept with them, it was found that ganja was kept in the bag. On which both the accused were arrested and a total of 25 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 2,50,000/- was seized from their possession and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 456/2023 under Section 20B Narcotics Act in Tikrapara police station.
