Ganja worth lakhs seized from Naya bus stand, smuggler arrested
Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has given necessary instructions to all the gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges, to detect and take action against the black drug dealers and to curb it. On which the team of all the police gazetted officers and station in-charges is collecting information regarding the drug dealers by patrolling and collecting information by appointing informers. In the same sequence, on 29.01.2024, Tikrapara police station received information that near Bhathagaon new bus stand motor cycle parking under Tikrapara police station area, a person has ganja in a white plastic sack with him and is planning to sell it.
On which Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter, City Superintendent of Police Purani Basti Rajesh Chaudhary, and Police Station Incharge Tikrapara Inspector Durgesh Raote were directed to verify the information and catch the accused red handed with ganja. On which, under the direction of senior officers, Tikrapara police station went to the said place and identified and arrested the person of the description described by the informer. During interrogation, the person gave his name as Mujahid, father Abdul Majeed, age 34 years, resident of ward number 6, Mosinpura post, near Hiwarkheda Bhavani temple, police station Hiwarkhed teh. Said to be from Telhara district Akola (Maharashtra). When the team members searched the white colored plastic sack kept with him, it was found that ganja was kept in the sack. On which the team members arrested the accused and seized 21.300 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 2,10,000 from his possession and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 78/2024 under Section 20B Narcotics Act in Tikrapara police station.
