Ganja worth Rs 7 lakh seized from Baleno car, smuggler arrested
Jashpur: Taking major action, the police have caught an accused who was smuggling ganja in a car. Besides, 50 kg of ganja has also been seized. Actually, Pathalgaon police station received information from an informer at 2 am on the night of 22-23 October that Bhojraj Chauhan, a resident of village Chandagarh Bhainsamuda, was smuggling a large consignment of ganja from Orissa in his Baleno car towards Pathalgaon.
On information, the driver of Maruti Baleno car CG 14 M.Q 4883 was stopped near the culvert located at Ludeg (Likhanpara) by our accompanying staff and witnesses. On searching the suspect’s vehicle, 50 kilograms worth Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand were recovered. 100,000 ganja was seized. During interrogation, the accused said that he had brought the ganja from Odisha. After registering the offense of Section 20 (B) NDPS, accused Bhojraj Chauhan, age 29 years, resident of Chandagarh Bhainsamuda police station Pathalgaon, was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
