Ganja worth Rs 76 lakh seized from car, smuggler absconding

Balrampur: Raghunathnagar police has got a big success in the case of ganja smuggling. Police have seized ganja worth Rs 76 lakh which was being smuggled in a luxury SUV. Raghunathnagar police received information from the informer that a luxury Pajero vehicle was parked in Kamalpur village. Illegal goods are being transported in the vehicle. On information, police reached the spot and investigated. During this time, packets of ganja filled in different sacks are available. 368 kg of ganja has been seized from the vehicle, the value of which is said to be Rs 76 lakh.

The smuggler had fled leaving the vehicle before the police arrived. The police have registered a case against an unknown ganja smuggler and initiated action. Balrampur Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Ummed Singh said that the smugglers were planning to go from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh, but due to the activeness of the police, the smugglers failed to smuggle ganja.
