Garhwal Commissioner and IG Garhwal reviewed the travel arrangements of Yamunotri Dham
Garhwal Commissioner Sushil Kumar and Inspector General of Police, Garhwal Zone, Karan Singh Nagnyal went on a two-day yamunotri tour of the Yamunotri route from yesterday, 16.04.2023. Yesterday, he inspected the Yamunotri route and travel arrangements from Dehradun to Barkot. Today, on 17.04.2023, a detailed physical inspection of the travel route, construction works and travel arrangements from Badkot to Yamunotri was done by IG and Commissioner. While physically inspecting the passenger registration center, the IG Sir instructed Superintendent of Police Uttarkashi and Chief Development Officer to make proper arrangements and appoint adequate personnel for registration in view of the crowd and traffic pressure, Kisala Sliding on Yamunotri Highway While inspecting the Zone and Dabarkot, instructions were given to appoint SDRF along with adequate police force on both sides of the barrier and danger zone, in view of the security there, Uttarkashi police on the narrow roads around Syanachatti, Ranachati. Describing one-way system, parkings, traffic plan, horse halt at Phulchatti and horse-mules rotation system as important from the point of view of smooth travel, proper implementation of these arrangements, horse/dandi-kandi halts at Yamunotri Dham, temples Instructions were given to appoint adequate police force in the campus and SDRF and QRT at the ghats, instructions were given to continuously monitor the yatra by installing CCTV cameras at two main places.
The Garhwal Commissioner, while taking stock of the construction works on the Yatra Route, doing the correct work on the danger/sliding zone and continuously monitoring such points, as well as token slot system for registration and basic facilities like electricity, water, toilets on the Yatra Route. Instructions were given to make proper arrangements and appoint personnel at health centers, ATMs and rest houses.
At Janki Chatti, the main stop of Yamunotri Dham, the IG and Commissioner organized a meeting with the local public, officials of the Yamunotri Temple Committee, pilgrimage priests, businessmen associated with Yatra, police-administration and officials of government/non-governmental organizations related to Yatra. After reviewing the construction works and security arrangements, instructions were given to all the officers for smooth and safe travel, the problems of the public were heard during public dialogue and feedback was taken regarding better travel, smooth and better from local people and travel traders. An appeal was made to cooperate with the police-administration in the yatra.
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Uttarkashi Arpan Yaduvanshi, Chief Development Officer Gaurav Kumar, ADM Tirthpal Singh, District Panchayat President Deepak Bijlwan, SDM Badkot Jitendra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Badkot Surendra Singh Bhandari, Vice President of Yamunotri Temple Committee Rajswarup Uniyal, Secretary Suresh Uniyal, Temple Office bearers of the committee/hotel association, pilgrimage priests, local people and officials of travel related departments, travel businessmen and respected journalists were present.
