Garment showroom caught fire, property worth lakhs burnt to ashes, Rs 2 crore burnt to ashes

Nayagarh: Property worth about Rs 50 lakh was burnt to ashes in a fire in a textile showroom in Nayagarh, Odisha. There was a loss of Rs 2 crore on Monday. According to reports, a fire broke out at Shree Shyam Garment Showroom on Khadpara Road in Nayagarh district. There is a possibility of fire in the showroom late at night. It is noteworthy that four fire engines and more than 30 firefighters were engaged in extinguishing the fire. Information of the owner whose assets are more than Rs 10 lakh. Two crore rupees were burnt. There is a possibility of fire due to short circuit. Like everyday, last night at 10:00 pm the shop owner and staff closed the shop and went home. At around 3 o’clock in the night, when the local people saw smoke coming out of the shop, they informed the owner. Later, after receiving information, the fire brigade reached the spot. However, since the shop was completely closed, it became difficult to control the fire. Four fire engines and more than 30 firefighters from Nayagarh, Nuagaon, Kharapada were engaged in extinguishing the fire. Due to the size of the showroom and heavy smoke coming from inside, it took more than four hours to extinguish the fire. Even to extinguish the fire the shop had to be demolished with the help of JCB. The fire official said the cause of the fire would be known later, while the shop owner said it was believed the fire was caused by a short circuit from the ceiling.
