Gas leak in BSP, 3 workers fainted
Durg. A major accident has happened once again in Bhilai Steel Plant located in the district. During the repair work in the blast furnace of the plant, leakage of carbon monoxide gas has started in stove number 18. There is a stir in Blast Furnace 6.
Due to the gas leak, three workers present there fainted in no time. All three workers were immediately rescued in unconscious state and taken to the main medical post. Seeing the condition of the workers, the doctors have referred all three workers to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Sector 9 Hospital. At present, the condition of 1 worker out of the three is said to be more serious.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of gas leak was received, the top officials of BSP management reached the spot and started the investigation process. However, the cause of the gas leak could not be ascertained at the moment. According to the information, the three workers who came under the grip of gas include Mohammad Meraj, Haricharan and Mohan Lal Gupta.
