Give instructions to all officers for the important work of counting of votes
Rajnandgaon : Collector and District Election Officer Doman Singh today held a meeting of nodal officers in the Collectorate meeting room regarding the preparation for the counting work of Assembly Elections 2023. The Collector said that the counting work will be done on December 3, 2023 from 8 am in the counting center located at Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Basantpur Campus Rajnandgaon. All officers should receive proper training for vote counting work and should be aware of the rules and provisions. He said that training should also be provided to all the officers, election agents and counting teams. He instructed all officers and employees to issue duty passes and gave guidelines regarding law and order.
The Collector gave instructions to make other arrangements including drinking water, food, cleanliness at the counting venue. He said that table-wise teams of enumeration supervisors and enumeration assistants should be formed. Asked to provide training for tabulation and sealing work. The Collector gave detailed instructions regarding statutory provisions, guidelines of the Election Commission of India, security arrangements, counting of postal ballots, counting of votes recorded in EVMs, sealing of EVMs and election materials after completion of counting and declaration of results. . He said that in the important work of counting of votes, all the officers will work as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
Collector Singh said that there should be arrangements for internet connectivity, photocopy machine, CCTV cameras, videography and mike in the counting venue. He instructed to make necessary preparations for counting of postal ballots. The Collector said that the Magistrate will be on duty to maintain law and order during the victory procession. He gave necessary instructions regarding security arrangements, parking of vehicles and media centre. Keep necessary materials for printer, scanner and sealing work for counting of postal ballots and ETPBS. The counting center should have tables, chairs and other adequate facilities in the counting hall. He said that work will be done keeping in mind the security arrangements in all the counting centres. Necessary instructions were given regarding assembly-wise, table-wise formation of the counting team, randomization, arrangement of D-code. Electricity supply should remain uninterrupted. On this occasion, District Panchayat CEO Amit Kumar, Additional Collector Indira Naveen Pratap Singh Tomar, SDM Rajnandgaon Arun Verma, Deputy District Election Officer Khemlal Verma, SDM Dongargarh Girish Ramteke, SDM Dongargaon Ashwan Pusam and other officers were present.
