GO asked election officials to discharge their duties responsibly

General Observer (GO) Dilip Routray asked the election officials of East Siang district to discharge their duties responsibly.
Speaking at a coordination meeting with zonal officers, sector magistrates and micro-supervisors here on Sunday, the GO apprised them of the “need to establish strong and direct communication with their respective block level officials”.

Routray also asked the Sector Magistrates to check the availability of assured minimum facilities in their respective areas and ensure the security of EVMs. The GO also took stock of the election preparedness and security arrangements to ensure hassle-free conduct of elections.

DEO Tai Taggu said that “All officials should know the entire process of voting and understand that they are responsible for various aspects of election management from the day of appointment till the completion of the voting process.”
Taggu stressed on conducting “mock poll procedures” before polling, and directed the presiding officers to “send the two-hour polling day report to the DEOs without fail, as per ECI guidelines”.
