Goa Maritime Conclave will be organized from 29 to 31 October
New Delhi (ANI): The Indian Navy will organize the fourth edition of Goa Maritime Conclave-2023 from October 29 to 31 under the aegis of Naval War College Goa. According to the Indian Navy, “The theme of this year’s edition of the GMC is Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean Region: Translating Common Maritime Priorities into a Collaborative Mitigation Framework, designed keeping in mind the need for ‘efforts’. ‘Synergistic and ‘cooperative’ in the maritime domain to achieve maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
“At GMC-23, Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, will welcome Naval Chiefs, Maritime Forces Chiefs and senior representatives of the 12 Indian Ocean littoral territories including Bangladesh, Comoros, Indonesia, Madagascar and Malaysia.” , Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh has agreed to be the chief guest and will deliver the keynote address of GMC-23,” the Indian Navy statement said.
Earlier, under the auspices of the Eastern Naval Command, the Officer-in-Charge Naval Command, Andhra Pradesh, had conducted Exercise Departure 2023 for the security of the Offshore Development Area at Kakinada. According to a Navy statement, the exercise was conducted on ONGC’s platform ship Platinum Explorer and Vedanta Limited’s (ANI) RG fixed oil platform.
