Goa murder case: Bengaluru startup CEO Suchana’s father asks court to find out her mental condition
Panaji: Weeks after Bengaluru-based data scientist Suchana Seth allegedly murdered his four-year-old son in Goa, his father Joy Gopal Seth has approached the Goa Children’s Court and asked the Goa Police to get him examined by a civil surgeon. Demanded to give instructions. The medical board will ascertain his mental condition.
Joy said it was beyond any imagination that a mother, in her proper mental state, would commit such an act against her own child.
He said, “I further add and say that due to the mental illness from which Suchana is suffering, she is unable to defend herself or she is unable to defend herself; she is in denial of her illness.”
Responding to the application, the Calangute police told the court that they have already requested Suchana’s medical examination report from the medical superintendent, Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (IPHB), Bambolim. Police said the report is awaited.
The father said he had a “true belief” that the arguments between Suchana and her husband had not been reported to the IPHB, and that this would help experts medically evaluate her mental state. “There will be serious prejudice (to the informant) because he is neither capable of defending himself nor capable of giving proper instructions by reason of his illness or mental condition, and therefore, in the interest of justice, it would be just and proper to pass judgment.” To check his mental health,” his father said.
