Governor gave citation to Raipur Collector

Raipur. Raipur district was honored by Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan today on Armed Forces Flag Day. Raipur district has received this honor for collecting the highest amount of donations in the state for the rehabilitation and welfare schemes of soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents. In a simple ceremony organized at Raj Bhavan today, the Governor honored District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure for this achievement by giving him a citation. With tireless efforts, Raipur district has collected an amount of more than Rs 22 lakh as donation for the rehabilitation and welfare schemes of soldiers, ex-servicemen, widows of martyred soldiers and their dependents. In the ceremony, Governor Shri Biswa Bhushan Harichandan also appealed to all the citizens to donate and cooperate as much as possible for the welfare of soldiers. During this, Principal Secretary of Home Department Manoj Pingua, Secretary to Governor Amrit Khalkho, Secretary of Home Department Arundev Gautam, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal, Director of Sainik Welfare Board Brigadier Vivek Sharma along with army officers, ex-servicemen and their families were also present.

Collector Dr. Bhure said that today is a great opportunity to pay respect to the families and ex-servicemen of the soldiers and brave martyrs serving in difficult and difficult areas to protect the country. He appealed to all the citizens to wholeheartedly celebrate Armed Forces Flag Day. Appealed to contribute generously to the fund.

In the function, Governor Shri Biswa Bhushan Harichandan provided a grant of Rs 2 lakh to the State Sainik Welfare Board on the occasion of Flag Day. At the beginning of the ceremony, floral tributes were offered to the martyred soldiers and tribute was paid to them by observing two minutes of silence. Shri Harichandan was honored by wearing a badge symbolizing the Armed Forces Flag Day. District Military Officer Captain Anurag Tiwari read out the message of President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu.

This amount of Armed Forces Flag Day is used in the rehabilitation of injured soldiers, financial assistance to the families of martyred soldiers and welfare schemes and rehabilitation for ex-servicemen and their dependents. The entire amount donated is exempt from income tax under Section 80 of the Income Tax Act 1961. Donation amount for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of soldiers can be provided through cheque, RTGS or draft or barcode by contacting District Sainik Welfare Office Shastri Chowk, Raipur.
