Great performance by Unnati and Ayush, dominance of Indian junior shuttlers continues
Spokane (IANS). Unnati Hooda and Aayush Shetty continued their form. Indian junior shuttlers won 10 of their 12 matches to advance to the round of 64 on the second day of the BWF World Junior Championships.
In the boys’ singles category, Ayush defeated Iogen Iwe of Malaysia 21-17, 21-17 in a close match.
In the girls’ singles match, Unnati won against Poland’s Joanna Poddorny 21-14, 21-9 in just 22 minutes.
The mixed doubles pair of Samarveer and Radhika Sharma registered an impressive 21-12, 21-11 win against Estonia’s Andrei Schmidt and Emily Parsim.
Meanwhile, Satwik Reddy Kanapuram and Vaishnavi Khadkekar dominated their match against Portugal’s Tiago Berenguer and Marta Sousa, winning 21-15, 21-6.
In the girls’ doubles category, the pair of Vennala Kalagotla and Sriyanshi Valishetti recovered from the loss in the first game against the Indonesian pair by winning the next two games and won the match 13-21, 21-19, 21-11.
The doubles pairs of Tushar Suvir (boys’ singles), Tara Shah (girls’ singles), Tushar Suvir-Nicholas Raj and Divyam Arora-Mayank Rana won and earned their place in the round of 32.
