Grocery store operator arrested for selling liquor
Raipur: Somnath Verma, the operator of a grocery shop selling liquor, has been arrested. According to the information, police post Siltara police station Dharsiwa received information that the operator of Lokesh grocery shop located in village Dhaneli was selling liquor illegally in his shop. On which, under the direction of senior officers, under the leadership of police station in-charge Dharsimwa and outpost in-charge Siltara, the team of outpost Siltara police went to the said grocery shop and conducted a raid. During the raid, a person was found present in the shop who declared his name as Somnath Verma and also declared himself to be the operator of a grocery shop. When the team members searched the grocery shop, it was found that country liquor was kept in the shop.
When Somnath Verma was asked for valid documents regarding the keeping and selling of liquor, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which accused Somnath Verma was arrested and illegally kept from his possession 85 pauvas of country liquor worth about Rs 10,000/- were seized and crime number 405/23 Section 34(2) of Excise Act was registered against accused Somnath Verma in police station Dharsiwa. Tax action taken.
