GST department raids illegal Gutkha factory, case of tax evasion of Rs 8 crores reported
Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has said that strict action will be taken against tax evaders and tax evaders will not be spared. In this series, on the instructions of Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, continuous action is being taken against tax evaders. It is being continuously tracked by the e-way bill checking team through the IT tools of the GST department. The State GST team is continuously keeping an eye on tax evasion and action is being taken continuously in this regard. Good results are emerging from this. Within just one week, the GST department took action and collected tax of Rs 8 crore. Chhattisgarh State GST’s e-way bill checking team, during checking on March 1, chased a suspicious vehicle and took action against an undeclared gutkha factory operating in Chandrakhuri in Durg district. Earlier, the suspected vehicle driver tried his best to dodge the GST investigation team and burnt the packing material to hide his identity, however the investigation team members still reached the Gutkha factory.
