Gujarat: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s public welfare approach to increase ease of living with strong transport facilities in cities and metros
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has adopted a public welfare approach to increase the ‘Ease of Living’ by providing strong urban public transport facilities to the citizens living in the cities and metropolitan cities of the state. For this purpose, Mr. Patel has two of the state; In-principle approval has been given to Gandhidham and Botad municipalities to operate 34 buses under the Chief Minister’s Urban Transport Scheme. Chief Minister Urban Transport Scheme has been started in the state from the year 2018 and 8 metropolitan municipalities and 22 municipalities of ‘A’ category with population of more than 1 lakh have been included in this scheme.
13 buses will operate in Gandhidham and 22 in Botad
The state government has made 252 buses operational for 20 municipalities of ‘A’ category under the Chief Minister’s Urban Transport Scheme. Now Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has two more municipalities; In-principle approval has been given to operate 13 buses to Gandhidham and 22 to Botad. As a result of this approval given by the Chief Minister, all the 22 municipalities of the ‘A’ category of the state have been included under the Chief Minister’s Urban Transport Scheme and citizens have started getting easy public transport services.
83 CNG buses are operational in 7 municipality areas
Under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shahari Vikas Yojana, a provision of Rs 290 crore has been suggested for the Chief Minister’s Urban Transport Scheme every year. Not only this, against the target of adding a total of 2864 urban buses on gross cost contract model under the Chief Minister’s Urban Transport Scheme, 1250 buses have been built so far. have been added. Accordingly, a total of 1167 buses, including 382 electric buses and 785 CNG buses, and 83 CNG buses are operational in 7 municipal areas.
