Gujarat Chief Minister made sarcastic comment
Gandhinagar: The Chief Minister of Gujarat, while exposing the administration in municipalities, said that first a road is built in the city and then the road is demolished in the name of sewerage. This cannot happen at any cost. He said that if you make a good plan, you will get money here (from the government).
If we do unplanned work then the whole government will have to listen.
In the check presentation program of Rs 2084 crore for the urban development of the state, the Chief Minister took the officers and officials to task and asked them to plan what to do. Some things are not quite right. If we do unplanned work then the entire government will have to listen.
There will be no compromise on the quality of work. If there is a delay of two months then the work will be done but its quality should remain intact. It often happens that when a leader becomes mayor, he does development work in his ward, but this does not happen. After becoming MLA, it is not possible to capture the municipality. Development works will have to be planned.
It is noteworthy that the condition of 169 municipalities of Gujarat has worsened. These institutions are not able to pay electricity and water bills on time. It is not known where the grant money is spent. Even the municipalities do not have sufficient budget to carry out the welfare works of the people. Amidst the pitiful condition of urban institutions, the Chief Minister of the state took several digs at those in power.
Chief Minister’s clash with Municipal Corporation system is shameful: Opposition
Checks of different amounts were given by the Chief Minister to the municipal corporations and municipalities of the state. A check of Rs 735 crore was given to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. He also remarked that even if the work gets delayed by two months, the quality will not be compromised. Opposition leader Shahzad Khan Pathan alleged that this confrontation of the state Chief Minister is shameful for the Ahmedabad city BJP officials and the administrative system.
