Gujarat minister Balvantsinh Rajput woos investors for global summit in January
BENGALURU: Gujarat Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput conducted a roadshow in Bengaluru on Thursday, aiming to attract investors to the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, scheduled to take place in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2024. He emphasized that investments garnered at this event were not limited to Gujarat alone but were intended to benefit the entire country.
Rajput disclosed that the Gujarat government is actively pursuing the establishment of a biotech park spanning 100 acres of land in Vadodara as part of the biotech mission. Gujarat is also in the process of submitting a bid to host the 2036 Olympics in India and is actively working on enhancing its infrastructure.
He drew investors’ attention to the ambitious 30 GW hybrid park under development in Kutch as part of the Hydrogen Mission. Additionally, the Gujarat government is striving to generate 100 GW of green energy. Gujarat already boasts a renewable energy capacity of 22 GW, accounting for 15% of India’s total renewable energy capacity.
During the presentation at the roadshow, Rajput highlighted Gujarat’s significant achievements, such as holding an 18% share in India’s total manufacturing, housing 11% of the nation’s factories, contributing 33% to India’s exports, and adding 8.4% to the country’s GDP. Gujarat also demonstrated a remarkable 15% increase in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) over the past two decades, surpassing the national average.
