Gujarat NEWS: Three killed, more than 40 injured in collision between two buses
Gujarat: Three people were killed and over 40 injured when a state transport bus hit a motorcycle, crossed a road divider and collided with a private bus carrying pilgrims in Gujarat’s Aravalli district on Saturday, police said.The accident occurred on a state highway near Sakriya Village around 11 am, an official said.
The state transport bus hit a motorcycle and the driver lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to cross the road divider and ram into a luxury bus parked on the wrong side of the highway, he said.The luxury bus was carrying passengers returning to Savli in Vadodara after a pilgrimage to the Jagannath temple in Puri (Odisha), the official said.Sub-inspector Ajaysinh Rathore said three people were killed and over 40 passengers were injured in the accident.
The motorcyclist, a woman travelling in the luxury bus and another passenger died, he said. Passengers travelling in both the buses were injured and about 15 to 20 of them were referred to Himmatnagar hospital in neighbouring Sabarkantha district for treatment, while the rest were being treated in Modasa, he said.
