Gujarat’s Translink Agency will monitor FDR
Shimla. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Himachal will be monitored from Gujarat. PWD has deployed Translink of Gujarat as the consultant agency in Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology. TransLink is monitoring the operations of FDR in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. In future, all the works of FDR in PWD will be completed on the advice of Translink.
Not only this, Translink will also monitor departmental work. In fact, the Central Government has given Himachal the target of constructing 660 km of roads through FDR under PMGSY. The big thing is that neither the contractors in the state are aware of this German technology.
Nor does the state engineer have any experience in monitoring. In such a situation, PWD had decided to deploy an independent agency for advice and monitoring. In this sequence, the department has handed over this responsibility to Translink of Gujarat.
The agency will also share information about the technology being used in FDR in other states including Uttar Pradesh with the concerned manufacturing company. Out of the big package received by Himachal under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 660 km of roads are to be constructed from FDR. For this, PWD has distributed the entire package among six states.
Now the Translink agency will become active after the tender process and start monitoring the project. The roads of the state will be built in a quality manner with German technology.
