Gulmarg turns into winter wonderland due to fresh snowfall
Baramulla: The world famous tourist destination Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir turned into a winter wonderland with fresh snowfall on Sunday. A tourist expressed his delight at the beautiful sight and said, “The weather is nice. We were waiting for this scene for a long time.”
However, another tourist pointed out the shortcomings of snowfall, saying, “The weather is good for tourists but it also has many demerits, because we cannot move ahead now because the road is blocked due to snow.”
Gulmarg, which is one of the most incredible tourist destinations, is famous for its charming view during the snowfall season as well as the lupine flowering season, which usually starts in mid-June and lasts till the end of July. .
During the snowfall season, people showcase their creativity by making snow sculptures.
Apart from its breathtaking beauty, Gulmarg is also famous for its winter sports. Apart from being the most popular tourist destination, it is also a skiing destination.
In February 2022, the world’s largest Igloo Café was opened in Gulmarg, attracting the attention of tourists.
A private company has also opened a glass igloo restaurant in Gulmarg this year.

According to India Meteorological Department Srinagar, the temperatures recorded at 8:30 am on Sunday were: -5.8 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg, 0.2 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam, 0.6 degrees Celsius in Banihal and 8.8 degrees Celsius in Jammu.
Srinagar recorded a low of 1.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, much higher than the bone-chilling minus 3.5 degrees Celsius recorded last Friday morning.
