Haryana MLA Gopal Kanda, brother Gobind appear before ED
New Delhi (IANS). Haryana Lokhit Party MLA Gopal Kanda and his brother Govind Kanda on Friday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in a money laundering case.
The Kanda brothers reached the probe agency’s headquarters in the national capital around 11.30 am where they are being questioned under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED is questioning Gopal Kanda for the second time in the case.
The financial probe agency had carried out searches on August 9 at the premises and office of Kanda and MDLR Airlines in Gurugram, Sirsa and Delhi.
Kanda is the MLA from Sirsa. He is giving outside support to the coalition government of BJP and JJP in Haryana.
Meanwhile, Govind Kanda has joined the BJP.
Last month, Gopal Kanda was acquitted in the air hostess Geetika Sharma suicide case.
Geetika Sharma was found dead on 5 August 2012 at her Delhi residence.
Gopal Kanda started MDLR Airlines in 2008 from Gurugram. However, it ceased operations in 2009 after getting embroiled in controversies.
