HC cancels Devaswom Board’s permission to hold Navakerala Sadas on temple grounds
Thiruvananthapuram: The High Court has canceled the permission to hold Navakerala Sadas at Chakkuvalli temple grounds in Kollam. Permission was granted by the Devaswom Board to hold the Navakerala Sadas at the Chakkuvalli temple grounds in Kunnathur constituency. The High Court upheld the petitioners’ claim that holding the Navakerala Sadan here would impact the operations of the temple. Hindu Aikyavedi workers had filed a petition in the High Court.
This program was scheduled here on December 18. With this order, a new location will have to be found for Navakerala Sadas. A section of devotees had also approached the High Court against the permission to hold Navakerala Sadas at Kadakkal Devikshetra ground. Meanwhile, a clash broke out between Youth Congress workers and police at Alappuzha Kaithavana Junction after black flags were shown to the Chief Minister. , The protest took place when the Chief Minister’s vehicle reached Kaithwana Junction via Kuttanad.
