HC directs CGPSC to give all answer sheets of main exam 2005 under RTI
Bilaspur: PSC will have to give the answer sheets of all seven subjects of PSC Mains Exam 2005, conducted in the year 2005, under RTI. A single bench of Justice BD Guru of the High Court has dismissed the petition of PSC saying this. The court said, according to the decisions of the Supreme Court, the petitioner is eligible to obtain the answer sheet under RTI.
Let us tell you that Praveen Chandra Srivastava, a resident of Durg, had given the PSC exam in the year 2005. He had demanded a copy of the answer sheet of the main exam under the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2005. The Public Information Officer of PSC had rejected his application. After this, he appealed to the State Information Commission. The Commission asked the PSC to give the answer sheet in the year 2015. PSC challenged this order in the High Court in the year 2015 itself. Advocate Gaurav Singhal argued on behalf of the candidate Praveen Chandra Srivastava.
After hearing all the parties in the case, the High Court said in its decision that the candidate is entitled to get a copy of the answer sheet. As per the order of the State Information Commission, give the answer sheets of all the seven question papers of optional subjects Public Administration and Anthropology of the PSC Main Examination 2005. The court, citing the decisions given by the Supreme Court in many cases, directed to give a copy of the answer sheet and dismissed the petition.
