Villager arrested for selling ganja in Kurud

Dhamtari. Kurud police has arrested the accused who was selling ganja in Chhopadhi Kurud near Pradeep Hospital Road Over Bridge. Police received information from an informer that a person was selling ganja in Chhopadhi Kurud near Pradeep Hospital Road Over Bridge. Based on the information given by the informer, Kurud police conducted a raid.

During this time, a villager was caught red-handed selling ganja in front of witnesses. When asked his name and address, he told his name as Jeetu Yadav, father, late Ram Yadav, age 47 years, resident of Railway Station Para Kurud, District Dhamtari. The drug was verified in front of the witnesses present. The drug was found to be ganja, a psychostimulant drug, weighing a total of 800 grams. Its cost is approximately Rs. 8000/- and the sale amount is Rs. 970/-, total Rs. 8970/-. It was sealed and seized in front of witnesses. A case was registered against the accused under Crime No. 18/25, Section 20 (B) of the Narcotics Act at Kurud Police Station and he was sent on judicial remand.
