Headmaster and teacher suspended, case of injured student goes to High Court
Bilaspur. In Bilaspur, the District Education Officer (DEO) has suspended the headmaster and teacher who were negligent in the treatment of a student who was burnt by kheer. At the same time, the High Court has also considered the negligence of the school staff as serious.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha has issued a notice to the Collector in the case and sought his reply. The whole matter pertains to the primary school of Domuhani in Torwa area.
On December 16, at Government Primary School Domuhani in Bilha development block, student Aditya Kumar Dheeraj got burnt after falling into hot pudding. In this incident, the student’s hand got badly burnt and got blisters.
School headmaster Sunita Khes and the staff did not feel pity after seeing the condition of the student. They sent him home directly without getting him any treatment.
After the matter came to light, District Education Officer TR Sahu sent department officials to the school on Tuesday and directed for investigation. During the investigation, the team took the statements of the school students as well as the staff and the headmaster, which revealed that they tried to hide the incident and did not inform the department officials about the incident.
The DEO considered this as indifference and negligence towards duty. He has suspended headmaster Sunita Khes and mid-day meal in-charge teacher Sunita Patel. He has been attached to the BEO office during the suspension period.
