Health Minister inaugurated Seva Fortnight, blood donation camps organized across the state
Chamoli (IANS). To commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Seva Pakhwada will be celebrated across the state from Sunday, which was formally inaugurated by the state’s Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat from the Government Doon Medical College. Along with this, blood donation camps have been organized in all 70 assembly constituencies of the state and three other government medical colleges, in which people are participating in large numbers for voluntary blood donation.
In the voluntary blood donation camp organized under the ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign at Government Doon Medical College, Health Minister Dr. Rawat honored the blood donors who have donated blood more than 50 times. On this occasion, the Health Minister said that on the occasion of the 74th birthday of the Prime Minister, blood donation camps are being organized at 74 places across the state.
He said that the ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign will be conducted till October 2, under which 10-10 blood donation camps will be organized in every assembly constituency, in which voluntary organizations, NSS, Red Cross Society, Scout-Guides, Rover-Rangers as well as Local public representatives including health, education, urban development, Panchayati Raj, women empowerment and child development will also participate.
He said that the target is to register two lakh people for blood donation in the state. Apart from this, a target has been set to make ten thousand people take oath for eye donation, organ donation and body donation. He said that Dadhichi wards will be created in government hospitals for organ donors and they will also be given special cards. Said that under Seva Pakhwada, there is also special focus on Ayushman Card and Abha ID. So far, Abha ID has been made for 58.65 lakh people in the state. Abha ID will be created for every citizen. At the same time, 52 lakh Ayushman cards have been made, 90 lakh are to be made. A target has been set to make 100 percent Ayushman cards in the state. On this basis the villages will be declared as Ayushman Gram.
The Health Minister said that health fairs will also be organized under the Ayushman Bhava campaign. Screening for non-communicable diseases including TB, anemia etc. will also be done at the village level. He asked the Mayor to hold a meeting with all the councilors regarding the campaign so that the strategy of the ward-wise campaign can be decided.
On this occasion, Dehradun Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama appealed to the people to donate blood in maximum numbers. In the program, MLA Rajpur Road Khajan Das said that there are many benefits of donating blood, on one hand, one gets help to the needy, on the other hand, the body also remains healthy.
On this occasion, he also appreciated the work of the medical college. Director General of Health Dr. Vineet Shah gave information about registering on the e-Raktakosh portal for voluntary blood donation and asked people to cooperate in blood donation.
On this occasion, Director of Medical Education and Principal of Medical College, Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Jain, General Secretary of Red Cross Society, Dr. Medical students including MS Ansari, Mahendra Bhandari were present.
