Heart transplantation at SCB Medical in Cuttack to begin soon, CTVS OPD inaugurated
Cuttack: The SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack City of Odisha is all set to add yet another feather in its cap as the heart transplantation will begin in the government-run health centre soon.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, while inaugurating the CTVS (Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery) OPD (Outpatient Department) at the hospital today, reviewed the infrastructure needed for the translation of heart.
In the CTVS OPD, patients will be screened and patients who need heart transplantation will be identified, said sources adding that heart transplantation will start after all the procedures are completed in the next 3 months.
The heart transplantation in SCB Medical will begin with the help of MGM Hospital in Chennai.
Earlier, liver, kidney and bone marrow transplantation have been successfully done at SCB Medical.
