High Court served contempt notice to the Superintendent of Police, know the reason?
Bilaspur. While hearing the petition of Preetpal Belchandan, former president of District Cooperative Bank Durg, the High Court has issued a contempt notice to the Superintendent of Police of Durg. In the petition, Belchandan has said that a report was lodged against him in the city police station of Durg that he has caused financial loss to the bank.
Belchandan had filed a writ petition in the High Court against the FIR and also sought anticipatory bail. On this, the Division Bench of the Chief Justice had directed the Durg Superintendent of Police to present the police investigation report in the court within four weeks.
Meanwhile, in the month of July, the petitioner was arrested by the police and the police investigation report was also not submitted. While hearing the petition of Belchandan, the single bench of Justice PP Sahu has issued a contempt notice to the Durg Superintendent of Police and sought his reply.
