Himachal: Akal Academy celebrated annual day
Himachal Pradesh: A number of activities were organised today to mark the 38th annual day of Akal Academy at Baru Sahib in Sirmaur district. As part of the celebrations, students performed martial arts, showcasing their dedication to fitness and discipline. Kindergarten students performed a heartwarming play titled ‘Journey to Zero Hunger’. They highlighted the importance of sharing, compassion, and working towards a world where no one sleeps hungry. Senior students presented a play titled “Investing in Women’s Education”, which made a strong appeal to the audience about the transformational impact of educating young girls. Through poignant visuals and strong messages, they highlighted how education empowers girls to break barriers, uplift families, and create a brighter and more equitable society. Senior students also performed an inspiring ‘Gatka’ performance, honouring the spirit and legacy of Sikh martial arts. Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Dr Ravneet Kaur, Chairperson, Competition Commission of India, said, “Akal Academy is shaping the minds of students, fostering dreams and nurturing spiritual aspirations.” Baba Dr Davinder Singh, Chairman, Kalgidhar Trust, said, “We seek strength from our saints and blessings from Waheguru to fulfill this objective. Every small step we take – every life we touch – is a part of our journey towards global peace and spiritual brotherhood.” He further added, “Starting with five students, this school aspires to spread value-based education to every corner of the world. Each Annual Day is a reminder of our commitment to serve humanity through education – renewing our efforts with greater faith, greater determination and profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve and realizing Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji’s dream of 500 schools.”
