Himachal: CITU will oppose the policies of the center

Shimla: The Indian Trade Union will hold a statewide protest at all the district and block headquarters of the state on July 12 against the anti-labor, anti-farmer, anti-employee and anti-people policies of the Central Government. This decision was taken in the meeting of the State Committee of CITU held here today under the chairmanship of CITU State President Vijendra Mehra. He said in the meeting that through the demonstration, CITU will raise demands like declaring minimum wage of Rs 26 thousand for workers, repealing four labor codes, canceling projects like National Monetization Pipeline, Agniveer, Ayudhveer, Koyalaveer, besides discontinuing benefits like other fixed term employment schemes, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Employees Pension Scheme (EPS), Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI), regularization of all types of workers including contract, part-time, multi-purpose, multi-task, temporary, casual, fixed term and outsourcing system. He said that unemployment, poverty and inequality are increasing due to the “neoliberal and pro-capitalist” policies of the Center. “Unemployment and inflation are also rising and the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and food items are skyrocketing,” he said. Mehra further said the Modi government’s “anti-labour policies” on privatisation and disinvestment in public enterprises, National Monetisation Pipeline, Agneepath scheme and several other issues would be exposed.
